Biography

King of Denial is a modern rock band with an aggressive, hook-laden sound founded by guitarist/vocalist Robert Kerns.  The addition of Chris Garrett on drums vocals and Chris Bouckhout on bass and vocals fills out this power trio.

They have a modern yet stripped down sound live, and occasionally will venture into studio releases that blend a variety of modern sounds.

The band is influenced by a wide variety of styles including hard rock, metal, punk rock, blues and even some country.  Every member has diverse tastes that combine for a unique sound and depth.

KOD released a studio single in 2021 entitled No Spoon which consisted of Robert experimenting with blending ambient modern synthesizers and heavy guitars and was inspired by a line from the movie, “The Matrix”.

Some ask why the name uses the singular King instead of the plural Kings, and the answer is that a great band is more than the sum of its parts, and becomes a singular unit working as One.  That is what we strive to be, one cohesive unit, not just within the band, but with our fans and friends as well.

We are all One after all!

The band is currently working on an album that will be a bit more stripped down and based around the live sound of this power trio.

King of Denial is available for live performances in the Pacific Northwest and mixes their original material with a wide range of classic covers.
